Competition privacy notice

This notice covers personal information collected for the Kitchen Samurai T-shirt Design Competition hosted at https://competition.kitchensamurai.co.za.

Who is responsible

The responsible party is Kitchen Samurai (Kitchen Samurai PTY (Ltd)), Shop No. 5A4, Silo 5, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, Cape Town, 8001. Contact: info@kitchensamurai.co.za.

What information is collected

Through the official entry form we expect to collect your name, contact details (such as email address and phone number), age or confirmation that you are 18 or older, South African residency confirmation, design files or previews, a short explanation of your concept, and optional portfolio, website or Instagram links. If you are shortlisted we may also collect print-ready working files. Public voting, if used, may collect limited information required to run the ballot, depending on the voting platform.

Why it is collected

We collect this information to administer the competition, confirm eligibility, communicate with entrants, display artwork during public voting, select a winner, arrange the prize, produce the limited merch, and keep records required by law.

Artwork and artist names during voting

Submitted artwork and artist names may be displayed on this website and related Kitchen Samurai channels during shortlisting, public voting and winner announcement, with appropriate artist credit.

Marketing

Competition entry data will not automatically be used for marketing. Any marketing contact requires separate, optional consent.

How long information is kept

Operators and the entry form

Entries are submitted through a Zoho Form operated by a third-party provider. Voting, if offered, will use a separate platform. Those operators process information on Kitchen Samurai’s instructions for this competition. Do not submit entries by any unofficial channel.
